As our planet is facing a major challenge through climate change, Belgians also went to the streets. This series is a selection of the different protests that are taking place. The diversity of participants is striking. Not only plenty of organisations participate, but also families and individuals that normally never participate in manifestations are increasingly present. People have been camping multiple nights next to the parlaiment to send their message to Belgian policitians.
The below major historic climate manifestation in Belgium took place on December 2nd 2018. The difference with “Claim the climate” compared to earlier manifestations was the diversity of participants. Not only plenty of organisations participated, but also families and individuals that normally never participate in manifestations were present. An estimated 70.000 people marched through the streets of Brussels.
